単なる「ありがとう」ではなく、「何に対して」ありがとうなのか。
理由を表すfor ~を伴って。

be動詞文と同じように、it(現在の状況)=late(遅い)だが、getが
進行形でつかわれているため、それが文全体にオーバーラッピングし、

そうですね。もう8時半です。駅まで車でお送りしましょう

Feel English Key Sentence
I really have to go.
goのイメージは、単なる「行く」ではなく、「元の場所から出ていき進んでいく」。
この文ではこの場所から「出る」ことを表している。
①She has gone to the supermarket. 彼女はスーパーに行っています。
この文には「ここにはいません」が含まれる。goと現在完了形で「(出ていって)
現在はいない」
②It’s OK. The pain will go soon. 大丈夫、痛みはすぐになくなりますよ。
「出ていく→なくなる」
The battery is gone. 電池が切れた。
Easy come, easy go. 簡単に手に入るものは、簡単に失われる。
③We all have to go sometime. みんないつかは亡くなります。
元の場所から出ることは「死ぬ」ことも含む。
You have to go. あなたには辞めてもらわなくてはなりません。
④The portrait goes on the wall, and the desk by the window.
肖像画は壁に、机は窓のそばに置いてください。
何かがgoする場所はtoだけで示されるわけではない。接触ならon、そばならby。
Expressions in Action
1. 子どもたちは公園に行っています(ここにはいません)。
The kids have gone to the park.
2. 私はあまりにも細かな内容に立ち入りたくはありません。
I don’t want to go into too much detail.
go into detail詳しく述べる。細部の「中に」が意識されinto
3. その絵は有名なコレクターに売れました。
That painting went to a famous collector.
去るgoが売られるの意味で使われ、どこに売られたのかが、
toで差し示されている。

10. She’s a famous TV personality in japan. 彼女は日本で有名なタレントです。
「得意、上手」の定番表現はgood atだが、
- 「得意、上手ですね」と相手に伝えるならyou’re good.で十分。
- より具体的にいう場合は good at + <アクテイビテイー / 動詞のing形> she is good at remembering people’s names.
~の才能がある have a talent for ~
形容詞talented my son is a talented soccer player.
