ちょっと待って、どこかで曲がる場所を間違えてしまったみたいだ。
Helen: I thought you knew how to get to your friend’s place.
私はてっきりあなたが、どうやってお友達の所へ行くのかを知っている
ものと思っていたわ。

how to get～「～の仕方・方法」
Gary: He moved recently, but I entered the address into my phone.
彼は最近引っ越したんだ、だけど僕は携帯に彼の住所を入れて置いたんだよ。
Helen: OK, I can see it on the map.
いいわ、私のマップで見つけたから。
seeのイメージ
視覚が対象をとらえるー「見える」。look(目を向ける)のように自発的な動作を伴う
わけではない。canと強く結びつき、can see(見える)、can hear(聞こえる)と
いったフレーズを作り頻繁に使われる。
Turn right at the next light. 次の信号で右に曲がって。
Gary: Thanks, Helen. I got it. ありがとう、ヘレン。わかったよ。
Helen: Gary. Can I turn the music up a little?
ギャリー、この音楽のボリュームをちょっと上げていい？
I really like this song. 私、この曲とっても好きなの。
Gary: Sure. It’s an old one by the Desperate Rats, “Marborough Fair.”
もちろん。デスパレート・ラッツの懐かしい曲、「マーボロー・フェア」だね。
Helen: It’s a classic. これは傑作だわ。

Turn right at the next light.
turnのイメージは「向きを変える」、曲げたり回したり。この文でturnの方向をrightで
説明している。
1. turnはいろいろなものの「向きを変える」ことができる。
①turn a knob / a key / a handle ドアノブ / 鍵 / 取っ手 を回す
②turn his head 彼の頭を動かす →さらに後ろに表現を付け加える
・turn his head around 振り向く ・turn his head away 顔を背ける
・turn his head to the side 横を向く ・turn his head to the right 右を向く
・turn his head from side to side 左右に振る
③turn his attention to～ ～に注目する

2. ①turn it over ひっくり返す overは「上に円弧(アーチ)を描く」イメージ
②turn it inside out 裏表にする

3. Can I turn the music up a little? 昔の音響機器のつまみを「回す」表現。
「音を下げる」はturn down
4. turnはクルッという動き。この動きが「変化」につながる。

The leaves are beginning to turn golden.
・turn golden turnが「～になる」という「変化」の意味で使われている、
説明型オーバーラッピング。 he looks happy. 「彼はうれしそうに見える」と同じ。
