すぐにかかりつけのお医者さんに診てもらったほうがいいですよ。
・take a look at 「目を向ける→調べる・検査する・診てもらう」
・had better ～ 「～したほうがいい(そうしなければ困ったことになる)」
という切迫感のある助動詞類。
・have以降は目的語説明型。「your doctorが take a look at itする
という状況をhaveする」。
②I’ll look after your dog, so don’t worry. I’ll call a taxi for you.
犬のお世話は私がしますから、大丈夫。タクシーを呼びますね。
・look afterは「世話をする」

→ Hmmm… These mushy peas are really good! I usually don’t like peas but I DO like this dish. It has mint and lemon in it.

Grammar and vocabulary
Roxy: Professor Peacock, you must know a lot about Stonehenge.
ピーコック教授、ストーンヘンジについてはお詳しいんでしょうね。
Peacock: Well, I’m no expert, but I know some things.
うん、私は全くの専門外だが、少しくらいなら知っているよ。
noの強さ
I’m not an expert, との違い。notは単なる否定で、「私は専門家では
ありません」。noの場合は、「まったくそうじゃない」と強い感情を
込めている。
Roxy: What is Stonehenge exactly?
ストーンヘンジって正確には一体何なんですか？
Peacock: That’s a good question, Roxy. Nobody really knows.
それはいい質問だね、ロキシー。本当のところは誰も知らないんだ。
But it may have been an observatory.
でも、ここは天体観測施設だったのかもしれないね。
助動詞+完了形
may have～はmay(かもしれない)と思った時点までに、
have以降の状況が起こったことを意味する。過去の出来事を
現在推量する「～だったのかもしれない」。
＊must have ～ 「～だったにちがいない」

Feel English Key Sentence
Can you see that stone over there?
seeは「見える」。lookのような目を向ける自発的な動作ではなく、対象が目に入っている・認識されていることを表す動詞。「向こうからやってくる感触」で比喩的に大きな広がりを」持つ。
①Glad to see you.
お目にかかれてうれしいです。
Are you seeing anyone? 誰かとつきあっていますか？
「見える」から「会う・つきあう」へ
②My granddad has seen a lot of changes in his lifetime.
祖父は人生でたくさんの(世の中の)変化を経験してきました。
「見てきた」は「経験してきた」につながる。
③I saw Mary shoplifting.
私はメアリーが万引きしているところを見ました。
seeは目的語説明型とたいへん相性が良い。目的語と説明語句の間に「＝」
あるいは「主語―述語」の関係がある。「Mary = shopliftingという状況を見た」。
④Let me see you home. 私にあなたを家まで見送らせてください。
「見守る」という意識で使われる。
see you to the doorあなたを玄関まで見送る

経験の意味で使われるsee。

「つきあうの」see。ask～outは「～をデートに誘う」。

6月９日(木)の献立 青椒肉絲
今日はオーブンでチキンの照り焼きを作ろうと、腿肉をチルド室に入れていたのですが、解凍が間に合わず、急遽手慣れた青椒肉絲にしました。弱火一口なので、炒めるというより、まるで蒸すような感じでしたが、味見をした孫は「大丈夫」と言ってくれました。
明日は外食、(土)は差し入れなしで、(日)にはいよいよガステーブルがつきます。夕食は孫たちの大好きなエビフライか何か、揚げ物と決めています。

Mr.Emori: It’s a sacred area built in memory of the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu.

get along with～
「～と仲良くやる・うまくやる」。alongは「細長いものに沿った動き」、
誰か・何かに衝突せず、情事に「沿っている」様子を表す。
Jeannie: Fine, I suppose. He’s kind and handsome.
順調です、たぶん。彼は親切でハンサムですし。
Dr. Stein: You don’t sound so sure. Is there a problem?
あんまりはっきりしない返事だね。何か問題でも？
説明型オーバーラッピング you = so sureではない（聞こえない）
Jeannie: Well, kind of. All the girls in town follow him around.
ええ、ちょっとね。町中の女の子たちが彼を追い回しているのよ。
Dr. Stein: Really? Because he’s good-looking?

lookは「目を向ける」―自発的動作。This room looks south.この部屋は南向きです。
look at(点)は「ある点に目を向ける」。後ろの文は「あなたが私にやったことに
目を向けて＝考えて」

Look what time it is! もうこんな時間だ！
(I’m) just looking. ただ見てるだけです。
lookは「目を向ける」。命令文で相手に注目させることもできる。

そのジャケット、とてもよくお似合いです。
lookは説明型オーバーラッピングで頻繁に使われる。「you=greatに見える」
look like～(～のように見える)
③You’d better get the doctor to look at the cut.
あなた、その傷をお医者さんにちゃんと診てもらわなくちゃ。
「目を向ける」は「調べる・検査する」につながる。

lookには、その動作がどこに・どのように向かうのかを示す前置詞がつく。
after「ついていく」 不測の事態がおこらないように後ろから見守る
for「求めて」 求めて目をやる＝探す

my mechanic は普段からお願いしている整備士というニュアンス。

接続詞while～は「～している間」。
