haveの表す行為

Grammar and vocabulary

Ren: Mom, is this camera Dad’s?

母さん、このカメラ、父さんの？

Mom: No, it’s mine. It was a present from my father.

　　　いいえ、私のよ。私の父からのプレゼントだったのよ。

　　　itは「受ける」単語

　　　itは日本語の「それ」(指す単語)ではなく、「受ける」単語。

　　　この応答では相手の質問にあるthis cameraを受けて、「・私のものです」

　　　「・プレゼントだったのです」と「・」はthis cameraを心の中で受ける一拍。

Ren: This is a good film camera, Mom. I read a review about it.

　　これはフィルム式の良いカメラなんだよ、母さん。これの評価記事を読んだこと

　　あるよ。

Mom: I didn’t know you were interested in old cameras.

　あなたが古いカメラに興味があるなんて知らなかったわ。

　　　リポート文

　　　主語の思考・発言・知識・感情をリポートする「リポート文」は、

　　　動詞句の内容を節で説明する「説明ルール：説明は後ろに置く」が作る形。

　　　この文では動詞句didn’t know(知らなかった)の内容を後続の節が説明している。

Ren: One of my friends at school is into them.

　僕の学校の友達の一人が熱中してるんだよ。

Mom: You can have my camera, Ren. I never use it anymore.

そのカメラをあげてもいいわよ、レン。もうそれを使うことは無いから。

But finding film is kind of hard these days.

　でもフィルムを手に入れるのは最近ではちょっと難しいわよ。

Ren: I can order some on the internet.

インターネットで注文できると思うんだ。

Mom: Oh, right.

ああ、そうね。

Key Sentence

You can have my camera.

haveは「周りにある」位置関係から間接的に類推される行為も表すことがある。

「あなたはhaveしてもいい→あなたにあげる」

Can I have ～？「～をもらえますか」

①have tea / dinner / a call

お茶を飲む　/　夕食をとる　/　電話をもらう

電話が「周りにある」から間接的に行為を表す。

②have a bath / a drink / a fight / a try / a talk

風呂に入る　/　一杯やる　/　かんかする　/　やってみる　/　話をする

　動作を表す名詞とともに使われ行為を表す。

③be had だまされる

　コントロールできる「周り」に置かれるということ。

④can’t / won’t have such behavior

そのようなふるまいを許さない。

　「周りに置いておく→許す・大目に見る」が、can’t / won’t～なので、「許さない」。

Expressions in Action

1. 私たちは普段7時半ごろに夕食をとります。

　 We usually have dinner around 7:30.

　「夕食にする」動作性の希薄な間接的行為を表す。

eat dinnerなら具体的に「モグモグ食べる」

2. 私の授業で、そのような妨害的行動を、私は許しません。

　 I’m not having such disruptive behabior in my class.

3. この絵は偽物です。残念ながらあなたはだまされているのです。

This painting is a fake. I’m afraid you’ve been had.

have been had「だまされている」現在の状況に焦点があり現在完了形。

I’m afraid「申し訳ありませんが・残念ながら」相手の意に沿わない内容を

持ち出す時のクッション。
